Some of our Year 5 & 6 girls’ footballers played their first league game this week against Corpus Christi. For some, it was their first-ever match, but they quickly adapted and gave 100%. It was a close game ending in a narrow 4-3 loss in the final minutes of the game, but the girls showed great determination and are eager for their next match against St. Patrick’s next week #romerothrives
Sacred Heart’s swimming team took part in the annual Catholic Schools Swimming Gala last Friday – and what a day it was
With an incredible team effort, they were crowned Coventry East winners in the morning session, securing their place in the finals. The top eight schools from across the city then went head to head in an intense showdown. The standard of swimming was phenomenal, and every race was fiercely competitive. But… they held their own to be crowned 1st place champions for the FOURTH year in a row!
We are immensely proud of every single child, who took part in the competition!
On Monday morning, some of our talented Year 4 and 5 girl footballers took part in The Romero Catholic Academy Girls Football Festival hosted at Cardinal Wiseman Catholic Secondary School. The event was a fantastic way to promote girls football across the academy and celebrate International Women’s Day, which took place over the weekend.
Our girls had a wonderful morning, participating in passing, shooting, fitness and dribbling activities. This was followed by a tournament where they went undefeated, winning four games and drawing two! We are very proud of them!
Well done to one half of our Year 6 rowing team, who took on Round 1 of the Coventry Schools Rowing Competition yesterday! They all performed brilliantly, collectively achieving just over 1,700 metres of rowing. Next week, the other half of our rowing team will compete to earn even more points for SH
Our footballers had a quick turnaround from yesterday’s match and faced Hollyfast this afternoon in the second round of the Harry Shaw Cup. It was always going to be a great game, especially since we played them in last year’s final. Both teams battled hard on a really muddy pitch, but we narrowly missed out on the win this time – despite hitting the post three times!
Some children from our football and netball clubs took on St. Peter & Paul in the Catholic League this afternoon, with both teams securing fantastic wins for Sacred Heart!
