Dear Parents,
What an amazing few weeks we have had celebrating our wonderful Sacred Heart School and parish turning 100 years old! This is such a significant achievement as it is a milestone that not many schools have reached.
We kicked off the week of celebrations with our dress up day and I absolutely loved seeing the different costumes worn by both children and staff. Over the week, each year group then focussed on what life was like for a Coventry child going to school during the different decades from 1920 to 1924.
On Friday, we had our Sacred Heart Fest and were joined for the celebration by parents and members of the parish. The children shone as they performed dances and songs from the decades.
Sunday was the most amazing day – hopefully you were able to join us and enjoyed it as much as we did! The mass was a truly beautiful occasion and it was so special to be joined by his Grace, Archbishop Bernard Longley, and so many members of the clergy. Both the parish and school choir provided an amazing sound track to our celebrations. Back at school, the fairground rides, food stalls and bands were fantastic and the night ended with a wonderful fire work display – a day to remember!
