Year 5 and Year 6 learned so much from their sessions with our Police Community Support Officer this week, where he focussed on a wide variety of topics, including online safety. Thank you to all those parents, who joined the after school session. I hope you found it informative.
Please find attached follow up information from our PCSO.
Please can I encourage you to spend time discussing with your child how to stay safe online and adding parent filters/monitoring to your child’s devices.
Following on from safer internet day, we had a number of children worryingly share that they have added strangers onto whatsapp, who they have met on games such a Roblox. This means that children have given out their personal phone numbers to strangers. It is important that children realise that people they meet online are not always who they seem – it is easy to give a fake name, age and gender.
We have completed additional work around this with our Year 3 and 4 children this week and the rest of the school will also have lessons around staying safe online over the next few weeks.
We have given children these key messages
