Social Action
Over the last six weeks, the children have spent time praying, reflecting and taking action to grow closer to God. We began our pilgrimage to the cross in school on our Lent Day, where children made Lent promises to ‘Fast from… and Feast on…’ Since then, children have been busy raising money for our Lent charities and CAFOD, through our Cake Sales and Big Lent Walk. Thank you so much to everyone, who donated in any way – your support is greatly appreciated. Please can I ask that any money collected form sponsor forms is returned to school as soon as possible.
Our Year 5 and Year 6 children loved the opportunity to explore Coombe Abbey this week, whilst out on their Big Lent Walk. Many of the children came back absolutely exhausted but with the lovely feeling that they had accomplished something. Unfortunately, due to roadworks and problems with the minibus, Year 3 and 4 had to do their Lent Walk in school, but they still had a great time, walking and chatting with their friends to raise money. Our Reception and Key Stage 1 children also found it a real challenge, but all the children completed their walk with a positive attitude. Well done to all of you! When we combined everyone’s efforts, we were able to walk nearly 1000 miles for CAFOD.
