Since the early years of the twentieth century, school children have helped support the Father Hudson’s by collecting coins during Lent, and this remains one of their most important fundraising sources. Today, children raise money through the annual Good Shepherd Appeal. The appeal teaches children to think of people who are less fortunate and helps raises money to sustain the work of caring for people in need. Your child will be coming home with a collection box and further information about the appeal so that they can collect money towards the appeal during Lent. The children are encouraged to donate some of their sweet or treat money to help people in need. The support from family members makes a huge difference to the success of the appeal – please rally round and help your child fill their collecting box! The need to me returned by the end of March.
